SHORELINE PROTECTION
What Is Shoreline Protection?
Structural shoreline stabilization, or shoreline protection, describes activities carried out at the water’s edge to control erosion, or prepare shorelines for development. Stabilization generally uses hardened structures that armour and protect unstable banks, including, stacked walls, smooth sloped revetment, concrete block bulkheads, breakwaters, groins and tumbled riprap revetments.

WHAT WE DO
Our Approach
Unprecidented storms, high waterlevels and severe wave action across the great Lakes region in recent years, have resulted in critical erosion along the surronnding shorelines of Lake Ontario and Lake erie
SHORELINE LIFESTYLE
Turn Your Shoreline Into An Outdoor Living Space
Armourstone retaining walls are not only used as erosion control along shorelines, but also as a terracing structure which allows ground levels of different elevations to exist adjacent to one another. Include optional waterside amenities, such as patios, decks, stairs
We provide comprehensive solutions to erosion concerns with structural shoreline stabilization installations. Our shoreline protection structures are designed to:
- Resist geotechnical factors such as hydrostatic pressure and embankment soil loads.
- Endure the hydraulic forces from waves and currents, including extreme events such as floods, storms, and impacts.
- Allow drainage without the loss of soils behind the structure, utilizing tough non-woven geo-textile fabric technology.
- Inhibit scour and undermining, by embedding (Toe) wall below water levelTie in effectively with adjacent structures.
- Employ durable, non-hazardous materials, Natural quarried stone, angular or smooth.
- Utilize reasonable construction methods regarding site access, equipment staging, crew safety, and environmental practices.
- Naturalization and bank stabilization landscaping and remediation.
- Accommodate additional features such as terraced walls, ramps, moorage facilities, pier abutments, and outfalls.
- Include optional waterside amenities, such as patios, decks, stairs.
- Associated site specific services, such as dredging and beach screening.
